Leaving the sunny Phoenix, Arizona, 17-year-old Isabella Marie “Bella” Swan reluctantly moves to the small rainy town of Forks to live with her father, a local police officer named Charlie while her mother Renée travels with her new husband, Phil Dwyer. Settling down her life in Forks, Bella goes to school to finish her study, where she meets Edward Cullen, a mysterious and attractive boy for the very first time. Somehow, the two are immediately drawn into each other without any single word spoken.
Their relationship heats up when Bella is nearly crushed by a classmate’s van at the parking lot and saved by Edward. The strange thing is that Edward instantaneously appears from nowhere and saves her with his bare hand. As a curious and stubborn girl, Bella is determined to find out the true identity of Edward and how he saved her life.
Meanwhile, Edward, a vampire who has been trying to hide his true identity in the town, seems to lose his control from Bella, her attraction as well as the scent of her blood …
About three things I was certain.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him, and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood.
And Third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
Isabella Swan’s move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife, between desire and danger.
Deeply sensuous and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.
Don’t miss the other titles in the Twilight Saga.
